Moab (again!)

Moab is the place we never seem to get tired of. I would have preferred that it was warmer this weekend, but a little red rock and a healthy dose of Vitamin D make up for the frigid temperatures.

Orson did his best to foil our plans for the long weekend. While we were grocery shopping on Wednesday evening he decided he would see what would win - his thumb or the grocery cart wheel. Score = grocery cart 1, thumb 0. After the blood curdling scream, at first I thought he had cut off a finger. Upon inspection, the thumbnail and top part of his thumb were not where they were supposed to be. We decided to go straight to the instacare/kidscare at the new hospital. I went to check him in and we got to forgo the admitting process because it is a finger. We were seen instantly by the nurse who told us we needed to go to the Emergency Room. Another trip to the ER without going through the ER door. At least this time didn't end with a couple day stay. Because of the flexibility in kids bones and tendons, Orson was lucky enough to end up with an avulsed nail. His thumbnail was literally ripped from the nail bed and part of it was on top of the skin, and luckily only dislocated. He screamed pretty good when the doctor pushed the nail back under the skin. So, Orson got to play in the sand with this huge bandaid on his thumb to keep the dirt out.



The trip itself was great! Great friends to visit with and kids to play with. We went to Uranium Arch and Gemini Bridges. We also did Metal Masher. Video to follow.
